1. 12ಮರಗಳು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಗಿಡಕ್ಕೆ--ನೀನು ಬಂದು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಳು ಅಂದವು.
2. 13ಆದರೆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಗಿಡವು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ--ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನೂ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿಸುವ ನನ್ನ ರಸವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮರಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವೆನೋ ಅಂದಿತು.
3. 14ಆಗ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮರಗಳು ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಗಿಡಕ್ಕೆ--ನೀನು ಬಂದು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಳು ಅಂದವು.
4. 15ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಗಿಡವು ಮರಗಳಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡುವದು ಸತ್ಯ ವಾದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನೆರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಗಿಡದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹೊರಟು ಲೆಬನೋನಿನ ದೇವದಾರುಗಳನ್ನು ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿ ಅಂದಿತು.
5. 16ನೀವು ಈಗ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಯಥಾರ್ಥದಿಂದಲೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾದರೆ, ಯೆರುಬ್ಬಾಳನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಮನೆಗೂ ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೆ
