ಆದರೆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಗಿಡವು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ--ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನೂ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿಸುವ ನನ್ನ ರಸವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮರಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವೆನೋ ಅಂದಿತು.
Aadare draakshe gidavu avugalige--devarannoo manushyanannoo santoshapadisuva nanna rasavannu naanu bittu maragala mele adhikaariyaagi hoguveno anditu.

- 14ಆಗ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮರಗಳು ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಗಿಡಕ್ಕೆ--ನೀನು ಬಂದು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಳು ಅಂದವು.
- 15ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಗಿಡವು ಮರಗಳಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡುವದು ಸತ್ಯ ವಾದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನೆರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಗಿಡದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹೊರಟು ಲೆಬನೋನಿನ ದೇವದಾರುಗಳನ್ನು ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿ ಅಂದಿತು.
