25ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಪರ್ವತ ಶಿಖರಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹೊಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವವರನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟು ತಮ್ಮ ಸವಿಾಪವಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾದುಹೋಗುವ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಸುಲುಕೊಂಡರು. ಅದು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.
26ಆಗ ಎಬೆದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗಾಳನೂ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರರೂ ಶೆಕೆಮಿಗೆ ದಾಟಿ ಬಂದರು; ಆದರೆ ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಜನರು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟು
27ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಯಿದು ಅವು ಗಳನ್ನು ತುಳಿದು ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿದು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕ ನನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಿದರು.
28ಆಗ ಎಬೆದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗಾಳನು--ನಾವು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಬೀ ಮೆಲೆಕನು ಯಾರು? ಶೆಕೆಮನು ಯಾರು? ಅವನು ಯೆರುಬ್ಬಾಳನ ಮಗನಲ್ಲವೋ? ಅವನ ಪ್ರಧಾನನು ಜೆಬುಲನಲ್ಲವೋ? ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಹಮೋರನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೇ ಸೇವಿಸಿರಿ; ಇವನನ್ನು ನಾವು ಯಾಕೆ ಸೇವಿಸಬೇಕು?
