ಅವರು ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವಾಗ ಬಾಲಕನಾದ ಯೇಸುವು ಹಿಂದೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಉಳಿದನು; ಅದು ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೂ ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

- 44ಆದರೆ ಆತನು ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಿರಬಹುದೆಂದು ಅವರು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಳಗದವರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪರಿ ಚಯವಾದವರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದರು.
- 45ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದ ದರಿಂದ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತೆ ಯೆರೂಸ ಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
