ಆತನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಆ ಸಾಮ್ಯದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು.

- 15ಹೊರಗಿನಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಲೆಮಾಡು ವಂಥದ್ದು ಯಾವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಅವನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುವಂಥವುಗಳೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಹೊಲೆ ಮಾಡುವವುಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.
- 16ಯಾವನಿಗಾದರೂ ಕೇಳು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗಳಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ಕೇಳಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

- 18ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ-- ನೀವು ಸಹ ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಾ? ಹೊರಗಿ ನಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರುವಂಥದ್ದು ಯಾವದೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಲೆಮಾಡಲಾರದು ಎಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
- 19ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನ ಹೃದಯದೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರದೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಹಿರ್ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ ಅಂದನು.
