ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ-- ನೀವು ಸಹ ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಾ? ಹೊರಗಿ ನಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರುವಂಥದ್ದು ಯಾವದೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಲೆಮಾಡಲಾರದು ಎಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

- 19ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನ ಹೃದಯದೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರದೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಹಿರ್ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ ಅಂದನು.
- 20ಮತ್ತು ಆತನು--ಮನುಷ್ಯನೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಡುವಂಥದ್ದೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಹೊಲೆಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
