1. 2ಆಗ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ--
2. 3ಬರಬೇಕಾದಾತನು ನೀನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಾವು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನಿಗಾಗಿ ನೋಡಬೇಕೋ ಅಂದನು.
3. 4ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ-- ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಕೇಳುವವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡುವವು ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ;
4. 5ಕುರುಡರು ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಕುಂಟರು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ,ಕುಷ್ಟರೋಗಿಗಳು ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಕಿವುಡರು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಸತ್ತವರು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆ ಸಾರಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ.
5. 6ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಂಶಯಪಡದವನೇ ಧನ್ಯನು ಅಂದನು.
