2. 2ಇವನು ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಯೋಹಾನನೇ; ಈಗ ಇವನು ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎದ್ದಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆದದರಿಂದಲೇ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಇವನಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಬರುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
3. 3ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಹೆರೋದನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹೆರೋದ್ಯಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಯೋಹಾನನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದನು.
4. 4ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಯೋಹಾನನು--ನೀನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರುವದು ನಿನಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನು.
