1. 8ಹೀಗೆ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲವಾದಾಗ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇತೋಟ ದ ಯಜಮಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೇವಾರ್ತೆಯವನಿಗೆ-- ಕೂಲಿಯಾಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಕೊನೆಯವನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನ ವರೆಗೆ ಕೂಲಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
2. 9ಸುಮಾರು ಹನ್ನೊಂದನೆ ಯ ತಾಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರಾದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಪಾವಲಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದನು.
3. 10ಆದರೆ ಮೊದಲು ಬಂದವರು ತಮಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದೊರೆಯುವ ದೆಂದು ನೆನಸಿದರು. ಆದರೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಪಾವಲಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದನು.
4. 11ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದಾಗ ಮನೇ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಗುಣು ಗುಟ್ಟುತ್ತಾ--
5. 12ಕಡೆಯವರಾದ ಇವರು ಒಂದೇ ತಾಸು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬಿಸಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ ನಮಗೆ ನೀನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಮಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ ಅಂದರು.
