ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಬತ್ತಿಹೋಯಿತು; ಈ ಮನ್ನವಲ್ಲದೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವದೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದರು.

- 5ನಾವು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚಿತ ವಾಗಿ ತಿಂದ ವಿಾನು ಸವತೆಕಾಯಿ ಕರ್ಬೂಜ ಕಾಡುಳ್ಳಿ ನೀರುಳ್ಳಿ ಬೆಳ್ಳುಳ್ಳಿ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ.
- 6ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಬತ್ತಿಹೋಯಿತು; ಈ ಮನ್ನವಲ್ಲದೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವದೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದರು.
- 7ಆ ಮನ್ನವು ಕೊತ್ತುಂಬರಿ ಬೀಜದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅದರ ಬಣ್ಣವು ಬದೋಲಖ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಹಾಗಿತ್ತು.
- 8ಜನರು ಹೊರಗೆಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಬೀಸುವ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಸಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಒರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟ್ಟಿ ತವೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಅದರಿಂದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅದು ಶುದ್ಧ ಎಣ್ಣೇ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ರುಚಿಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಇತ್ತು.
