ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಕಾನಾನ್‌ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸು. ಅವರವರ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರೊಳಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಕರ್ತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಂತೆ ಪಾರಾನ್‌ ಅರಣ್ಯ ದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men [ were] heads of the children of Israel.
ಅವರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಯಾವವಂದರೆ: ರೂಬೇನ್‌ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಜಕ್ಕೂರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಶಮ್ಮೂವನು,
And these [were] their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.
ಸಿಮೆಯೋನ್‌ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಹೋರಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶಾಫಾಟನು,
Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.
ಯೂದಾ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಯೆಫುನ್ನೆಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಕಾಲೇಬನು,
Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
ಇಸ್ಸಾಕಾರ್‌ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಗಾಲನು,
Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.
ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್‌ ಗೋತ್ರದ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹೋಶೇಯನು,
Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun.
ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್‌ ಗೋತ್ರದ ರಾಫೂವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಪಲ್ಟೀಯು,
Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.
ಜೆಬುಲೂನ್‌ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಸೋದೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಗದ್ದೀಯೇಲ್‌,
Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.
ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಗೋತ್ರ ಅಂದರೆ ಮನಸ್ಸೆ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಸೂಸೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಗದ್ದೀ,
Of the tribe of Joseph, [namely], of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.
ದಾನ್‌ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಗೆಮಲ್ಲೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅವ್ಮೆಾಯೇಲನು,
Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.
ಆಶೇರ್‌ ಗೋತ್ರದ ವಿಾಕಾ ಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೆತೂರ್‌,
Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.
ನಫ್ತಾಲಿ ಗೋತ್ರದ ವಾಪೆಸೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ನಹಬೀ,
Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.
ಗಾದನ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಮಾಕೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆಯೂವೇಲ್‌.
Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.
ಮೋಶೆಯು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಾಳತಿ ನೋಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಇವೇ. ಮೋಶೆ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹೋಶೇಯನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋಶು ವನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
These [are] the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.
ಮೋಶೆ ಕಾನಾನ್‌ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಾಳತಿ ನೋಡು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಈ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನೇರಿ
And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this [way] southward, and go up into the mountain:
ಆ ದೇಶವು ಎಂಥದ್ದೋ? ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಜನರು ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ವರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಬಲಹೀನರೋ, ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಬಹಳ ಜನರೋ ಎಂದೂ
And see the land, what it [is;] and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they [be] strong or weak, few or many;
ಅವರು ವಾಸಿ ಸುವ ದೇಶವು ಎಂಥದ್ದೋ ಅದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗಿ ದೆಯೋ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿದೆಯೋ ಅವರು ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಎಂಥವುಗಳೋ ಅವರು ವಾಸಿಸುವದು ಡೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೋ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೋಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೋ ಎಂದೂ
And what the land [is] that they dwell in, whether it [be] good or bad; and what cities [they be] that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;
ಆ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಎಂಥದ್ದೋ ಸಾರವಾ ದದ್ದೋ? ನಿಸ್ಸಾರವಾದದ್ದೋ ಮರಗಳುಳ್ಳದ್ದೋ? ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವದೋ ಎಂದೂ ನೋಡಿರಿ. ನೀವು ಧೈರ್ಯ ವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದು ಆ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಫಲವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇಹಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಕಾಲವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
And what the land [is], whether it [be] fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time [was] the time of the firstripe grapes.
ಆಗ ಅವರು ಏರಿಹೋಗಿ ಜಿನ್‌ ಎಂಬ ಅರಣ್ಯ ದಿಂದ ಹಮಾತಿನ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೆಹೋಬಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಾಳತಿ ನೋಡಿದರು.
So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.
ಅವರು ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನ ವರೆಗೆ ಬಂದರು; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಾಕನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಅಹೀಮನ ಶೇಷೈಯನೂ ತಲ್ಮೈಯನೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ಹೆಬ್ರೋನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದ ಚೋವನಿಗಿಂತ ಏಳು ವರುಷಗಳ ಮೊದಲು ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪ ಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು.
And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, [were]. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
ಅವರು ಎಷ್ಕೋಲ ಹಳ್ಳದ ವರೆಗೂ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇಹಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಗೊಂಚಲಿನ ಕೊಂಬೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದು ಅದನ್ನು ಅಡ್ಡಕೋಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾಳಿಂಬರ ಅಂಜೂರ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and [they brought] of the pomegranates, and of the figs.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇಗೊಂಚಲನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಎಷ್ಕೋಲ್‌ ಹಳ್ಳವೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು.
The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.
ಅವರು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಾಳತಿ ನೋಡಿ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ದಿವಸಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
ಅವರು ಹೋಗಿ ಮೋಶೆ ಆರೋನರ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಭೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಪಾರಾನ್‌ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಾದೇಶಿಗೂ ಬಂದು ಅವರಿಗೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಭೆಗೂ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ ಆ ದೇಶದ ಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು.
And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
ಅವರು ಅವ ನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದೆವು. ಅದು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಾಲೂ ಜೇನೂ ಹರಿಯುವ ದೇಶವೇ; ಅದರ ಫಲವು ಇದೇ.
And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this [is] the fruit of it.
ಆದರೆ ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಜನರು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರು; ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳು ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಬಹಳ ದೊಡ್ಡವುಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಅನಾಕನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಕಂಡೆವು.
Nevertheless the people [be] strong that dwell in the land, and the cities [are] walled, [and] very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರು ದೇಶದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಹಿತ್ತಿಯರು ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರು ಅಮೋ ರಿಯರು ಪರ್ವತಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಾಸ ವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
ಆದರೆ ಕಾಲೇಬನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರಿಸಿ--ನಾವು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ. ಅದನ್ನು ಜಯಿ ಸಲು ನಾವು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಶಕ್ತ ರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಂದನು.
And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
ಅದರೆ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರುಆ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರು ನಮಗಿಂತ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ದರು.
But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they [are] stronger than we.
ಅವರು ಪಾಳತಿ ನೋಡಿದ ದೇಶದ ವಿಷಯ ಕೆಟ್ಟಸುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ತಂದು--ನಾವು ಪಾಳತಿ ನೋಡುವ ದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾದುಹೋದ ದೇಶವು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರು ವವರನ್ನು ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವ ದೇಶವಾಗಿದೆ; ನಾವು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಹಾಶರೀರದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು.ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮಾನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಅಮಾನುಷ್ಯ ಸಂತಾನ ವಾದ ಅನಾಕನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡೆವು; ನಮ್ಮ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಮಿಡತೆಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದೆವು, ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೂ ಇದ್ದೆವು.
And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, [is] a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it [are] men of a great stature.
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮಾನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಅಮಾನುಷ್ಯ ಸಂತಾನ ವಾದ ಅನಾಕನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡೆವು; ನಮ್ಮ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಮಿಡತೆಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದೆವು, ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೂ ಇದ್ದೆವು.
And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, [which come] of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
