ಕೈತಪ್ಪಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಹತ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಆರು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಪರಕೀಯರಿಗೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೂ ಆಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇರಬೇಕು.

- 17ಒಬ್ಬನು ಮರಣವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಎಸೆದು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಸಾಯುವಹಾಗೆ ಹೊಡೆದರೆ ಅವನು ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನು; ಆ ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕನನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಾಯಿಸಬೇಕು.
