ಅನೇಕ ಸಲ ಗದರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರೂ ಬಗ್ಗದಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಯವನು ಏಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಮುರಿದು ಬೀಳುವನು.
He, that being often reproved hardeneth [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ದಾಗ ಜನರು ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ದುಷ್ಟನು ಆಳಿದರೆ ಜನರು ಶೋಕಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಹರ್ಷಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯ ರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಹವಾಸ ಮಾಡುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ವೆಚ್ಚಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth [his] substance.
ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿನಿಂದ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಲಂಚಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸು ವವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ.
The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವ ನನ್ನು ಮುಖಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಅವನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲೆಯನ್ನು ಒಡ್ಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
ಕೆಟ್ಟವನ ದೋಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಉರ್ಲು ಇದೆ; ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಹಾಡಿ ಹರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
In the transgression of an evil man [there is] a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
ಬಡವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ದುಷ್ಟನು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವ ದಿಲ್ಲ.
The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: [but] the wicked regardeth not to know [it].
ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಗಾರರು ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಉರ್ಲನ್ನು ಒಡ್ಡು ತ್ತಾರೆ; ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸುವರು.
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise [men] turn away wrath.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿ ದರೆ ಅವನು ರೇಗಿದರೂ ನಕ್ಕರೂ ಶಮನವಾಗುವು ದಿಲ್ಲ.
[If] a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, [there is] no rest.
ಕೊಲೆಪಾತಕರು ನೀತಿವಂತರನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸು ತ್ತಾರೆ; ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತರು ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡು ಕುತ್ತಾರೆ.
The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
ಮೂಢನು ತನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊರ ಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise [man] keepeth it in till afterwards.
ಸುಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದುಷ್ಟರೇ.
If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants [are] wicked.
ಬಡವರೂ ಮೋಸಗಾರರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸಂಧಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.
ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವ ಅರಸನ ಸಿಂಹಾ ಸನವು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳ್ಳುವದು.
The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
ಬೆತ್ತ ಬೆದ ರಿಕೆಗಳು ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ; ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟ ಹುಡುಗನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.
ದುಷ್ಟರು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದಾಗ ದೋಷವು ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ; ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಅವರ ಬೀಳುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ನೋಡುವರು.
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವ ನಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಾಗುವದು; ಹೌದು, ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಆನಂದವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವನು.
Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
ದರ್ಶನವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ; ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು.
Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.
ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಸೇವಕನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರೂ ಉತ್ತರಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
ತನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದುಡುಕುವವನನ್ನು ನೀನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೀಯೋ? ಅವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಬುದ್ದಿಹೀನನ ವಿಷಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇದೆ.
Seest thou a man [that is] hasty in his words? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him.
ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಕೋಮಲವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕುವವನು ತರುವಾಯ ತನಗೆ ಮಗನಂತೆ ಆಗುವನು.
He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become [his] son at the length.
ಕೋಪಿಷ್ಠನು ಜಗಳ ವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ರೋಷಗೊಂಡವನು ದೋಷದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಗರ್ವವು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತರುವದು; ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ದೀನರಾಗಿರುವವರು ಸನ್ಮಾನಹೊಂದುವರು.
A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
ಕಳ್ಳರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪಾಲು ಗಾರನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಹಗೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಅವನು ಶಾಪವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿತಿಳಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth [it] not.
ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಭಯವು ಉರುಲನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತದೆ; ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸ ವಿಡುವವನು ಕ್ಷೇಮದಿಂದಿರುವನು.
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
ಅನೇಕರು ಅಧಿ ಪತಿಯ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಕರ್ತನಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.ಅನೀತಿ ವಂತನು ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ; ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿರುವವನು ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.
Many seek the ruler’s favour; but [every] man’s judgment [cometh] from the LORD.
ಅನೀತಿ ವಂತನು ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ; ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿರುವವನು ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.
An unjust man [is] an abomination to the just: and [he that is] upright in the way [is] abomination to the wicked.
