ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸ ದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವವು.

4ಅವನು ಬೋಧಿಸಿ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ; ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಜೀವಿಸು.
5ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನೂ ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನೂ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸು; ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮರೆಯದಿರು, ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಬೇಡ.
6ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸ ದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವವು.
7ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾ ದಿಸು, ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಪಡೆ ದುಕೋ.
8ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಮೇಲೆತ್ತಿದರೆ ಆಕೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆತ್ತುವಳು; ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಅಪ್ಪಿ ಕೊಂಡರೆ ಆಕೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಘನತೆಗೆ ತರುವಳು.
