1. 9ಈ ಧನ್ಯತೆಯು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೂ ಆಗುತ್ತದೋ? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯೇ ನೀತಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತೆಂಬದಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇವಲ್ಲಾ.
2. 10ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಅದು ಯಾವಾಗ ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು? ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾದ ಮೇಲೆಯೋ? ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾಗು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲೋ? ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.
3. 11ಆಮೇಲೆ ನೀತಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ರೆಯಾಗಿ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿದನು. ಇದು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಅವನಿಗಿದ್ದ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದಾಯಿತು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ನಂಬುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಾದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಂದೆಯಾದನು; ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರೂ ನೀತಿವಂತರೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವರು.
4. 12ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ತಂದೆಯಾದವನು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ನಡೆದ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಜಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೂ ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
5. 13ಅವನು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವನೆಂಬ ವಾಗ್ದಾ ನವು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಅವನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಿ ಗಾಗಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದಿಂದ ಆದದ್ದಲ್ಲ, ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಯಿಂದಾದ ನೀತಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಆದದ್ದು.
