ಸಮುದ್ರತೀರದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಅಯ್ಯೋ! ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿದೆ; ಓ ಕಾನಾನೇ, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶವೇ, ನಿವಾಸಿಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವೆನು.
Samudrateerada nivaasigalaada keretyara janaangakke ayyo! Kartana vaakyavu nimage virodhavaagide; o kaanaane, philishtiyara deshave, nivaasiye illada haage ninnannu naashamaaduvenu.

- 7ತೀರವು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮನೆತನದವರ ಉಳಿದವರಿಗೆ ಆಗುವದು; ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೇಯಿಸುವರು; ಅಷ್ಕೆ ಲೋನಿನ ಮನೆತನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲ ಅವರು ಮಲಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು; ಅವರ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ದರ್ಶಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಸೆರೆಯನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸುವನು.
