3. 17അതു ദാവീദിന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനെയും കൂട്ടി യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്നു അവർക്കെതിരെ ചെന്നു അവരുടെ നേരെ അണിനിരത്തി. ദാവീദ് അരാമ്യർക്കു നേരെ പടെക്കു അണിനിരത്തിയ ശേഷം അവർ അവനോടു പടയേറ്റു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു.
4. 18എന്നാൽ അരാമ്യർ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ഓടി; ദാവീദ് അരാമ്യരിൽ ഏഴായിരം തേരാളികളെയും നാല്പതിനായിരം കാലാളുകളെയും നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; സേനാപതിയായ ശോഫക്കിനെയും കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.
5. 19ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ തങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു തോറ്റുപോയെന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു ദാവീദിനോടു സന്ധിചെയ്തു അവന്നു കീഴടങ്ങി; അമ്മോന്യരെ സഹായിപ്പാൻ അരാമ്യർ പിന്നെ തുനിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.
