2. 24അവൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ വഴിയിൽ ഒരു സിംഹം അവനെ കണ്ടു അവനെ കൊന്നു; അവന്റെ ശവം വഴിയിൽ കിടന്നു, കഴുത അതിന്റെ അരികെ നിന്നു; സിംഹവും ശവത്തിന്റെ അരികെ നിന്നു.
3. 25വഴിപോകുന്ന ആളുകൾ ശവം വഴിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്നതും ശവത്തിന്റെ അരികെ സിംഹം നില്ക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു; വൃദ്ധനായ പ്രവാചകൻ പാർക്കുന്ന പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.
4. 26അവനെ വഴിയിൽ നിന്നു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്ന പ്രവാചകൻ അതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ: അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം മറുത്ത ദൈവപുരുഷൻ തന്നേ; യഹോവ അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം യഹോവ അവനെ സിംഹത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചു; അതു അവനെ കീറി കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 27പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടു: കഴുതെക്കു കോപ്പിട്ടുതരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
