അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു: ജീവനുള്ള കുഞ്ഞിനെ രണ്ടായി പിളർന്നു പാതി ഒരുത്തിക്കും പാതി മറ്റേവൾക്കും കൊടുപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

- 26ഉടനെ ജീവനുള്ള കുഞ്ഞിന്റെ അമ്മ തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഉള്ളു കത്തുകകൊണ്ടു രാജാവിനോടു: അയ്യോ! എന്റെ തമ്പുരാനേ ജീവനുള്ള കുഞ്ഞിനെ കൊല്ലരുതേ; അതിനെ അവൾക്കു കൊടുത്തുകൊൾവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. മറ്റേവളോ: എനിക്കും വേണ്ടാ, നിനക്കും വേണ്ടാ; അതിനെ പിളർക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
- 27അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു: ജീവനുള്ള കുഞ്ഞിനെ കൊല്ലരുതു; അവൾക്കു കൊടുപ്പിൻ; അവൾ തന്നേ അതിന്റെ തള്ള എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
