Moreover the Hebrews [that] were with the Philistines before that time, which went up with them into the camp [from the country] round about, even they also [turned] to be with the Israelites that [were] with Saul and Jonathan.

1. 19ശൗൽ പുരോഹിതനോടു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ പാളയത്തിലെ കലാപം മേല്ക്കുമേൽ വർദ്ധിച്ചുവന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ശൗൽ പുരോഹിതനോടു: നിന്റെ കൈ വലിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2. 20ശൗലും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി പടെക്കു ചെന്നു, അവിടെ അവർ അന്യോന്യം വെട്ടി വലിയ കലക്കമായിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
3. 21മുമ്പെ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോടു ചേർന്നു ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അവരോടുകൂടെ പാളയത്തിൽ വന്നിരുന്ന എബ്രായരും ശൗലിനോടും യോനാഥാനോടും കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന യിസ്രായേല്യരുടെ പക്ഷം തിരിഞ്ഞു.
4. 22അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരുന്ന യിസ്രായേല്യർ ഒക്കെയും ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ തോറ്റോടി എന്നു കേട്ടയുടനെ അവരും പടയിൽ ചേർന്നു അവരെ പിന്തുടർന്നു.
5. 23അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ അന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനെ രക്ഷിച്ചു; പട ബേത്ത്-ആവെൻവരെ പരന്നു.
