1. 13അങ്ങനെ ശമൂവേൽ തൈലക്കൊമ്പു എടുത്തു അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നടുവിൽവെച്ചു അവനെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു; യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു അന്നുമുതൽ ദാവീദിന്മേൽ വന്നു. ശമൂവേൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റു രാമയിലേക്കു പോയി.
2. 14എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു ശൗലിനെ വിട്ടുമാറി; യഹോവ അയച്ച ഒരു ദൂരാത്മാവു അവനെ ബാധിച്ചു.
3. 15അപ്പോൾ ശൗലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അവനോടു: ദൈവം അയച്ച ഒരു ദൂരാത്മാവു നിന്നെ ബാധിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
4. 16ആകയാൽ കിന്നരവായനയിൽ നിപുണനായ ഒരുത്തനെ അന്വേഷിപ്പാൻ തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു അടിയങ്ങൾക്കു കല്പന തരേണം; എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തിങ്കൽനിന്നു ദുരാത്മാവു തിരുമേനിമേൽ വരുമ്പോൾ അവൻ കൈകൊണ്ടു വായിക്കയും തിരുമേനിക്കു ഭേദം വരികയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 17ശൗൽ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു: കിന്നരവായനയിൽ നിപുണനായ ഒരുത്തനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
