29അതിന്നു ദാവീദ്: ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? ഒരു വാക്കല്ലേ പറഞ്ഞുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
30അവൻ അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറി മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചോദിച്ചു; ജനം മുമ്പിലത്തേപ്പോലെ തന്നേ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
31ദാവീദ് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകൾ പരസ്യമായപ്പോൾ ശൗലിന്നും അറിവു കിട്ടി; അവൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി.
32ദാവീദ് ശൗലിനോടു: ഇവന്റെ നിമിത്തം ആരും അധൈര്യപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; അടിയൻ ചെന്നു ഈ ഫെലിസ്ത്യനോടു അങ്കം പൊരുതും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
33ശൗൽ ദാവീദിനോടു: ഈ ഫെലിസ്ത്യനോടു ചെന്നു അങ്കം പൊരുതുവാൻ നിനക്കു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ല; നീ ബാലൻ അത്രേ; അവനോ, ബാല്യംമുതൽ യോദ്ധാവാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
