അവന്റെ അമ്മ ആണ്ടുതോറും ഒരു ചെറിയ അങ്കി ഉണ്ടാക്കി തന്റെ ഭർത്താവിനോടുകൂടെ വർഷാന്തരയാഗം കഴിപ്പാൻ വരുമ്പോൾ അവന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്കും.

- 21യഹോവ ഹന്നയെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; അവൾ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു മൂന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരെയും പ്രസവിച്ചു. ശമൂവേൽബാലനോ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വളർന്നുവന്നു.
