രാവിലെ അവർ എഴുന്നേറ്റപ്പോൾ സൂര്യൻ വെള്ളത്തിന്മേൽ ഉദിച്ചിട്ടു മോവാബ്യർക്കു തങ്ങളുടെ നേരെയുള്ള വെള്ളം രക്തംപോലെ ചുവപ്പായി തോന്നി:

- 23അതു രക്തമാകുന്നു; ആ രാജാക്കന്മാർ തമ്മിൽ പൊരുതു അന്യോന്യം സംഹരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; ആകയാൽ മോവാബ്യരേ, കൊള്ളെക്കു വരുവിൻ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
- 24അവർ യിസ്രായേൽപാളയത്തിങ്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേല്യർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു മോവാബ്യരെ തോല്പിച്ചോടിച്ചു; അവർ ദേശത്തിൽ കടന്നുചെന്നു മോവാബ്യരെ പിന്നെയും തോല്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
