2. 17പട്ടണക്കാർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു യോവാബിനോടു പട വെട്ടിയപ്പോൾ ദാവീദിന്റെ ചേവകരായ പടജ്ജനത്തിൽ ചിലർ പട്ടുപോയി; ഹിത്യനായ ഊരിയാവും മരിച്ചു.
3. 18പിന്നെ യോവാബ് ആ യുദ്ധവർത്തമാനം ഒക്കെയും ദാവീദിനോടു അറിയിപ്പാൻ ആളയച്ചു.
4. 19അവൻ ദൂതനോടു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നീ യുദ്ധവർത്തമാനം ഒക്കെയും രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു തീരുമ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു:
