ഒരുത്തൻ അതു കണ്ടിട്ടു: അബ്ശാലോം ഒരു കരുവേലകത്തിൽ തൂങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു എന്നു യോവാബിനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

- 11യോവാബ് തന്നെ അറിയിച്ചവനോടു: നീ അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവിടെവെച്ചുതന്നേ വെട്ടിക്കളയാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു? ഞാൻ നിനക്കു പത്തുശേക്കെൽ വെള്ളിയും ഒരു അരക്കച്ചയും തരുമായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
- 12അവൻ യോവാബിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ആയിരം ശേക്കെൽ വെള്ളി എനിക്കു തന്നാലും ഞാൻ രാജകുമാരന്റെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടുകയില്ല; അബ്ശാലോംകുമാരനെ ആരും തൊടാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ എന്നു രാജാവു നിന്നോടും അബീശായിയോടും ഇത്ഥായിയോടും ഞങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കെയല്ലോ കല്പിച്ചതു.
