1. 2അപ്പോൾ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ അനന്യാസ് അരികെ നില്ക്കുന്നവരോടു അവന്റെ വായിക്കു അടിപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.
2. 3പൗലൊസ് അവനോടു: ദൈവം നിന്നെ അടിക്കും, വെള്ള തേച്ച ചുവരേ; നീ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം എന്നെ വിസ്തരിപ്പാൻ ഇരിക്കയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി എന്നെ അടിപ്പാൻ കല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
3. 4അരികെ നില്ക്കുന്നവർ: നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹാപുരോഹിതനെ ശകാരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
4. 5അതിന്നു പൗലൊസ്: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, മഹാപുരോഹിതൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; “നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അധിപതിയെ ദുഷിക്കരുതു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 6എന്നാൽ ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിൽ ഒരു പക്ഷം സദൂക്യരും ഒരുപക്ഷം പരീശന്മാരും ആകുന്നു എന്നു പൗലൊസ് അറിഞ്ഞു: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാൻ ഒരു പരീശനും പരീശന്മാരുടെ മകനും ആകുന്നു; മരിച്ചവരുടെ പ്രത്യാശയെയും പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ വിസ്താരത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
