അബ്രാഹാം ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള വിറകു എടുത്തു തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ചുമലിൽ വെച്ചു; തീയും കത്തിയും താൻ എടുത്തു; ഇരുവരും ഒന്നിച്ചു നടന്നു.

- 7അപ്പോൾ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: അപ്പാ, എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവൻ: എന്താകുന്നു മകനേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. തീയും വിറകുമുണ്ടു; എന്നാൽ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടി എവിടെ എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.
- 8ദൈവം തനിക്കു ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു ഒരു ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെ നോക്കിക്കൊള്ളും, മകനേ, എന്നു അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ ഇരുവരും ഒന്നിച്ചു നടന്നു.
