അബ്രാഹാം ബാല്യക്കാരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ കഴുതയുമായി ഇവിടെ ഇരിപ്പിൻ; ഞാനും ബാലനും അവിടത്തോളം ചെന്നു ആരാധന കഴിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

- 6അബ്രാഹാം ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നുള്ള വിറകു എടുത്തു തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ചുമലിൽ വെച്ചു; തീയും കത്തിയും താൻ എടുത്തു; ഇരുവരും ഒന്നിച്ചു നടന്നു.
- 7അപ്പോൾ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: അപ്പാ, എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവൻ: എന്താകുന്നു മകനേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. തീയും വിറകുമുണ്ടു; എന്നാൽ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടി എവിടെ എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.
