അതിന്നു യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ അമ്മയായ റിബെക്കയോടു: എന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവു രോമമുള്ളവനും ഞാൻ രോമമില്ലാത്തവനും ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ.
Atinnu yaakkob tante ammayaaya ribekkayotu: ente sahodaranaaya eshaavu romamullavanum nyaan romamillaattavanum aakunnuvallo.

- 12പക്ഷേ അപ്പൻ എന്നെ തപ്പിനോക്കും; ഞാൻ ഉപായി എന്നു അവന്നു തോന്നീട്ടു ഞാൻ എന്റെ മേൽ അനുഗ്രഹമല്ല ശാപം തന്നേ വരുത്തും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
- 13അവന്റെ അമ്മ അവനോടു: മകനേ, നിന്റെ ശാപം എന്റെ മേൽ വരട്ടെ; എന്റെ വാക്കു മാത്രം കേൾക്ക; പോയി കൊണ്ടുവാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
