1. 24ഇതാ, വാടകൾ! നഗരത്തെ പിടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു! വാളും ക്ഷാമവും മഹാമാരിയും ഹേതുവായി ഈ നഗരം അതിന്നു നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്ന കല്ദയരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ അരുളിചെയ്തതു സംഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ അതു കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ.
2. 25യഹോവയായ കർത്താവേ, നഗരം കല്ദയരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കെ, നിലം വിലെക്കു മേടിച്ചു അതിന്നു സാക്ഷികളെ വെക്കുവാൻ നീ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.
3. 26അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
4. 27ഞാൻ സകലജഡത്തിന്റെയും ദൈവമായ യഹോവയാകുന്നു; എനിക്കു കഴിയാത്ത വല്ല കാര്യവും ഉണ്ടോ?
5. 28അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ കല്ദയരുടെ കയ്യിലും ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ കയ്യിലും ഏല്പിക്കും; അവൻ അതിനെ പിടിക്കും.
