അബീമേലെക്കിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ അവൻ തോറ്റോടി; അവൻ അവനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു പടിവാതിൽവരെ അനേകംപേർ ഹതന്മാരായി വീണു.

- 41അബീമേലെക്ക് അരൂമയിൽ താമസിച്ചു; സെബൂൽ ഗാലിനെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും ശെഖേമിൽ പാർപ്പാൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ അവിടെനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
- 42പിറ്റെന്നാൾ ജനം വയലിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അബീമേലെക്കിന്നു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അറിവുകിട്ടി.
