3. 6అమ్మోనీయులు దావీదునకు తమయందు అసహ్యము పుట్టించితిమని తెలిసికొనినప్పుడు హానూనును అమ్మోనీయులును అరామ్నహరయీము నుండియు, సిరియా మయకానుండియు సోబానుండియు రథములను గుఱ్ఱపురౌతులను రెండువేల మణుగుల వెండిఇచ్చి బాడిగెకు కుదుర్చుకొనిరి.
4. 7ముప్పది రెండువేల రథములతో వచ్చునట్లు జీతమిచ్చి మయకారాజును అతని జనులను కుదుర్చుకొనిరి; వీరు వచ్చి మేదెబా ముందరితట్టున దిగిరి, అమ్మోనీయులు తమతమ పట్టణములలోనుండి కూడుకొని యుద్దముచేయుటకు వచ్చిరి.
5. 8దావీదు ఈ సంగతి విని యోవాబును సైన్యములోని పరాక్రమశాలుల నందరిని పంపెను.
