నీవతని మాట వినవద్దు, దానికి ఒప్పుకొనవద్దు అని ఆ పెద్దలును జనులందరును అతనితో చెప్పిరి,

- 9గనుక అతడుమీరు రాజైన నా యేలిన వానితో తెలియజెప్పవలసినదేమనగానీవు మొదట నీ సేవకుడనైన నాకు ఇచ్చిపంపిన ఆజ్ఞను నేను తప్పక అనుసరింతును గాని, నీవిప్పుడు సెలవిచ్చిన దానిని నేను చేయలేనని బెన్హదదు దూతలతో చెప్పుడనెను. ఆ దూతలు పోయి బెన్హదదునొద్దకు వచ్చి ఆ ప్రత్యుత్తరము తెలియజేయగా
- 10బెన్హదదు మరల అతని యొద్దకు దూతలను పంపినాతోకూడ వచ్చిన వారందరును పిడికెడు ఎత్తికొని పోవుటకు షోమ్రోను యొక్క ధూళి చాలినయెడల దేవతలు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయుదురు గాక అని వర్తమానము చేసెను.
