1. 25రాజు రెండు భాగములుగా బ్రదికియుండు బిడ్డను చేసి సగము దీనికిని సగము దానికిని చెరిసగము ఇయ్యవలసినదని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.
2. 26అంతట బ్రదికియున్న బిడ్డయొక్క తల్లి తన బిడ్డ విషయమై పేగులు తరుగుకొని పోయినదై, రాజునొద్దనా యేలిన వాడా, బిడ్డను ఎంతమాత్రము చంపక దానికే యిప్పించుమని మనవిచేయగా, ఆ రెండవ స్త్రీ అది నాదైనను దానిదైనను కాకుండ చెరిసగము చేయుమనెను.
3. 27అందుకు రాజుబ్రదికియున్న బిడ్డను ఎంతమాత్రము చంపక మొదటిదాని కియ్యుడి, దాని తల్లి అదే అని తీర్పు తీర్చెను.
4. 28అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును రాజు తీర్చిన తీర్పునుగూర్చి విని న్యాయము విచారించుటయందు రాజు దైవజ్ఞానము నొందినవాడని గ్రహించి అతనికి భయపడిరి.
