సౌలు పొలమునుండి పశువులను తోలుకొని వచ్చుచుజనులు ఏడ్చుటకు హేతువేమని అడుగగా వారు యాబేషువారు తెచ్చిన వర్తమానము అతనికి తెలియజేసిరి.

- 6సౌలు ఆ వర్తమానము వినగానే దేవుని ఆత్మ అతనిమీదికి బలముగా వచ్చెను. అతడు అత్యాగ్రహుడై
- 7ఒక కాడి ఎడ్లను తీసి తునకలుగా చేసి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశములోని నలుదిక్కులకు దూతలచేత వాటిని పంపిసౌలుతోను సమూయేలుతోను చేరకుండువాడెవడో వాని ఎడ్లను నేను ఈ ప్రకారముగా చేయుదునని వర్తమానము చేసెను. అందువలన యెహోవా భయము జనులమీదికి వచ్చెను గనుక యొకడైనను నిలువకుండ వారందరు వచ్చిరి.
