యాబేషు వారి పెద్దలతో చెప్పగా వారుమేము ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సరిహద్దు లన్నిటికి దూతలను పంపుటకై యేడు దినముల గడువు మాకిమ్ము; మమ్మును రక్షించుటకు ఎవరును లేక పోయిన యెడల మమ్మును మేము నీకప్పగించుకొనెద మనిరి.

Yaabeshu vaari peddalato cheppagaa vaarumemu ishraayeleeyula sarihaddu lannitiki dootalanu pamputakai yedu dinamula gaduvu maakimmu; mammunu rakshinchutaku evarunu leka poyina yedala mammunu memu neekappaginchukoneda maniri.

King James Version (KJV): And the elders of Jabesh said unto him, Give us seven days’ respite, that we may send messengers unto all the coasts of Israel: and then, if [there be] no man to save us, we will come out to thee.
World English Bible (WEB): The elders of Jabesh said to him, “Give us seven days, that we may send messengers to all the borders of Israel; and then, if there is no one to save us, we will come out to you.”

5సౌలు పొలమునుండి పశువులను తోలుకొని వచ్చుచుజనులు ఏడ్చుటకు హేతువేమని అడుగగా వారు యాబేషువారు తెచ్చిన వర్తమానము అతనికి తెలియజేసిరి.
