అప్పుడురేపు మధ్యాహ్నములోగా మీకు రక్షణ కలుగునని యాబేష్గిలాదు వారితో చెప్పుడని వచ్చిన దూతలతో ఆజ్ఞనిచ్చి వారిని పంపివేసెను. దూతలు పోయి యాబేషువారికి ఆ వర్తమానము తెలుపగా వారు సంతోషపడిరి.

King James Version (KJV): And they said unto the messengers that came, Thus shall ye say unto the men of Jabesh-gilead, To morrow, by [that time] the sun be hot, ye shall have help. And the messengers came and shewed [it] to the men of Jabesh; and they were glad.
World English Bible (WEB): They said to the messengers who came, “Tell the men of Jabesh Gilead, ‘Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, you will be rescued.’” The messengers came and told the men of Jabesh; and they were glad.

8అతడు బెజెకులో వారిని లెక్క పెట్టగా ఇశ్రాయేలువారు మూడు లక్షలమందియు యూదావారు ముప్పదివేల మందియు అయిరి.
9అప్పుడురేపు మధ్యాహ్నములోగా మీకు రక్షణ కలుగునని యాబేష్గిలాదు వారితో చెప్పుడని వచ్చిన దూతలతో ఆజ్ఞనిచ్చి వారిని పంపివేసెను. దూతలు పోయి యాబేషువారికి ఆ వర్తమానము తెలుపగా వారు సంతోషపడిరి.
10కాబట్టి యాబేషువారు నాహాషు యొక్క దూతలతో ఇట్లనిరిరేపు మేము బయలుదేరి మమ్మును అప్పగించుకొందుము, అప్పుడు మీ దృష్టికి ఏది అనుకూలమో అది మాకు చేయవచ్చును.
11మరునాడు సౌలు జనులను మూడు సమూహములుగా చేసిన తరువాత వారు తెల్లవారు సమయమున దండుమధ్యను జొచ్చి మధ్యాహ్నములోగా అమ్మోనీయులను హతముచేయగా వారిలో మిగిలినవారు ఇద్దరేసికూడి పోజాలకుండ చెదరిపోయిరి.
