- 40తన కఱ్ఱ చేత పట్టుకొని యేటి లోయలో నుండి అయిదు నున్నని రాళ్లను ఏరుకొని తనయొద్దనున్న చిక్కములో నుంచుకొని వడిసెల చేత పట్టుకొని ఆ ఫిలిష్తీ యుని చేరువకు పోయెను.

- 42చుట్టు పారచూచి దావీదును కనుగొని, అతడు బాలుడై యెఱ్ఱటివాడును రూపసియునై యుండుట చూచి అతని తృణీకరించెను.
- 43ఫిలిష్తీయుడుకఱ్ఱ తీసి కొని నీవు నా మీదికి వచ్చుచున్నావే, నేను కుక్కనా? అని దావీదుతో చెప్పి తన దేవతల పేరట దావీదును శపించెను.
