2. 21అయితే రాజైన నెకో అతనియొద్దకు రాయ బారులను పంపి - యూదారాజా నీతో నాకేమి? పూర్వమునుండి నాకు శత్రువులగువారిమీదికేగాని నేడు నీమీదికి నేను రాలేదు. దేవుడు త్వరచేయుమని నాకు ఆజ్ఞాపించెను గనుక దేవుడు నాతోకూడ ఉండి నిన్ను నశింపజేయ కుండునట్లు ఆయన జోలికి నీవు రావద్దని చెప్ప నాజ్ఞాపించెను.
3. 22అయినను యోషీయా అతనితో యుద్ధము చేయగోరి, అతనియొద్దనుండి తిరిగి పోక మారువేషము ధరించుకొని, యెహోవా నోటి మాటలుగా పలుకబడిన నెకో మాటలను వినక మెగిద్దో లోయయందు యుద్ధము చేయ వచ్చెను.
4. 23విలుకాండ్రురాజైన యోషీయామీద బాణములు వేయగా రాజు తన సేవకులను చూచి - నాకు గొప్ప గాయము తగిలెను, ఇక్కడనుండి నన్నుకొని పోవుడని చెప్పెను.
5. 24కావున అతని సేవకులు రథము మీదనుండి అతని దింపి, అతనికున్న వేరు రథముమీద అతని ఉంచి యెరూషలేమునకు అతని తీసికొని వచ్చిరి. అతడు మృతిబొంది తన పితరుల సమాధులలో ఒకదాని యందు పాతిపెట్టబడెను. యూదా యెరూషలేము వారందరును యోషీయా చనిపోయెనని ప్రలాపము చేసిరి.
