బేతేలులోనున్న బలిపీఠమును ఉన్నతస్థలమును, అనగా ఇశ్రాయేలు వారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడైన నెబాతు కుమారుడగు యరొబాము కట్టించిన ఆ ఉన్నత స్థలమును బలిపీఠమును అతడు పడగొట్టించి, ఆ ఉన్నత స్థలమును కాల్చి పొడుము అగునట్లుగా త్రొక్కించి అషేరాదేవి ప్రతిమను కాల్చివేసెను.

Betelulonunna balipeethamunu unnatasthalamunu, anagaa ishraayelu vaaru paapamu cheyutaku kaarakudaina nebaatu kumaarudagu yarobaamu kattinchina aa unnata sthalamunu balipeethamunu atadu padagottinchi, aa unnata sthalamunu kaalchi podumu agunatlugaa trokkinchi asheraadevi pratimanu kaalchivesenu.

King James Version (KJV): Moreover the altar that [was] at Beth-el, [and] the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, [and] stamped [it] small to powder, and burned the grove.

16యోషీయా అటు తిరిగి అచ్చట పర్వతమందున్న సమాధులను చూచి కొందరిని పంపి సమాధులలోనున్న శల్యములను తెప్పించి, దైవ జనుడు యెహోవా మాట చాటించి చెప్పిన ప్రకారము వాటిని బలిపీఠముమీద కాల్చి దాని అపవిత్రపరచెను.
17అంతట అతడునాకు కనబడుచున్న ఆ సమాధి యెవరిదని అడిగినప్పుడు పట్టణపు వారు అది యూదాదేశమునుండి వచ్చి నీవు, బేతేలులోని బలిపీఠమునకు చేసిన క్రియలను ముందుగా తెలిపిన దైవజనుని సమాధియని చెప్పిరి.
