4. 17హదదెజరు సైన్యాధిపతియగు షోబకు వీరికి అధిపతిగా ఉండెను. దావీదునకు ఈ వార్త వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులనందరిని సమకూర్చి యొర్దానునది దాటి హేలామునకు వచ్చెను.
5. 18సిరియనులు సన్నద్ధులై దావీదును ఎదుర్కొన వచ్చి అతనితో యుద్ధము కలిపి ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల యెదుట నిలువజాలక పారిపోగా, దావీదు సిరియనులలో ఏడు వందలమంది రథికులను నలువది వేల మంది గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులను హతము చేసెను. మరియు వారి సైన్యాధిపతి యగు షోబకు దావీదు చేతిలో ఓడిపోయి అచ్చటనే చచ్చెను.
