సిరియనులు సన్నద్ధులై దావీదును ఎదుర్కొన వచ్చి అతనితో యుద్ధము కలిపి ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల యెదుట నిలువజాలక పారిపోగా, దావీదు సిరియనులలో ఏడు వందలమంది రథికులను నలువది వేల మంది గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులను హతము చేసెను. మరియు వారి సైన్యాధిపతి యగు షోబకు దావీదు చేతిలో ఓడిపోయి అచ్చటనే చచ్చెను.
