అమ్మోనీయుల ఘనులు తమ రాజగు హానూనుతో ఈలాగు మనవిచేసిరినీ తండ్రిని సన్మానించుటకే దావీదు నీయొద్దకు ఓదార్చు వారిని పంపెనని నీవనుకొనుచున్నావా? ఈ పట్టణమును నాశము చేయవలెనని దాని శోధించుటకై వారిని అతడు వేగు నిమిత్తమే పంపించియున్నాడని నీకు తోచ లేదా?

- 4అంతట హానూను దావీదు పంపించిన సేవకులను పట్టుకొని, సగము గడ్డము గొరిగించి, వారు తొడుగుకొనిన బట్టలను నడిమికి పిఱ్ఱలమట్టుకు కత్తిరించి వారిని వెళ్లగొట్టెను.
- 5ఈ సంగతి దావీదునకు వినబడినప్పుడు, ఆ మనుష్యులు బహు సిగ్గునొందిరని వారిని ఎదుర్కొనుటకై మనుష్యులను పంపించిమీ గడ్డములు పెరుగువరకు యెరికోపట్టణమందు ఆగి అటుతరువాత రండని వారితో చెప్పుడనెను.
