శతాధిపతి పౌలును రక్షింప నుద్దేశించివారి ఆలోచన కొనసాగనియ్యక, మొదట ఈదగలవారు సముద్రములో దుమికి దరికి పోవలెననియు

King James Version (KJV): But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from [their] purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast [themselves] first [into the sea], and get to land:

41రెండు ప్రవాహములు కలిసిన స్థలమందు చిక్కుకొని ఓడను మెట్ట పట్టించిరి. అందువలన అనివి కూరుకొని పోయి కదలక యుండెను, అమరము ఆ దెబ్బకు బద్దలై పోసాగెను.
42ఖైదీలలో ఎవడును ఈదుకొని పారి పోకుండునట్లు వారిని చంపవలెనని సైనికులకు ఆలోచన పుట్టెను గాని

44కడమ వారిలో కొందరు పలకలమీదను, కొందరు ఓడ చెక్కల మీదను, పోవలెననియు ఆజ్ఞాపించెను. ఈలాగు అందరు తప్పించుకొని దరిచేరిరి.
