మెమూకాను రాజు ఎదుటను ప్రధానుల యెదుటను ఈలాగు ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను రాణియైన వష్తి రాజు ఎడల మాత్రము కాదు, రాజైన అహష్వేరోషు యొక్క సకల సంస్థానములలోనుండు అధిపతులందరి యెడలను జనులందరియెడలను నేరస్థురాలాయెను.
Memookaanu raaju edutanu pradhaanula yedutanu eelaagu pratyuttaramichchenu raaniyaina vashti raaju edala maatramu kaadu, raajaina ahashveroshu yokka sakala sansthaanamulalonundu adhipatulandari yedalanu janulandariyedalanu nerasthuraalaayenu.

- 17ఏల యనగా రాజైన అహష్వేరోషు తన రాణియైన వష్తిని తన సన్నిధికి పిలుచుకొని రావలెనని ఆజ్ఞాపింపగా ఆమె రాలేదను సంగతి బయలుపడగానే స్త్రీలందరు దానివిని, ముఖము ఎదుటనే తమ పురుషులను తిరస్కారము చేయుదురు.
- 18మరియు పారసీకులయొక్కయు మాదీయుల యొక్కయు నాయకపత్నులు రాణి చేసినదాని సమా చారము విని, రాణి పలికినట్లు ఈ దినమందు రాజుయొక్క అధిపతులందరితో పలుకుదురు. దీనివలన బహు తిరస్కారమును కోపమును పుట్టును.
