1. 14సాయంత్రమందు ఆమె లోపలికి వెళ్లి మరుదినము ఉపపత్నులను కాయు రాజుయొక్క షండుడైన షయష్గజు అను అతని వశములోనున్న రెండవ అంతః పురమునకు తిరిగివచ్చును. ఆమెయందు రాజు సంతోషించి ఆమెను పేరుపెట్టి పిలిచితేనే గాని ఆమె రాజునొద్దకు మరల వెళ్లకుండెను.
2. 15మొర్దెకై తన కుమార్తెగా స్వీకరించుకొనిన తన పినతండ్రియైన అబీహాయిలు కుమార్తెయగు ఎస్తేరు రాజునొద్దకు వెళ్లుటకు వంతు వచ్చినప్పుడు స్త్రీలను కాయు రాజుయొక్క షండుడైన హేగే నిర్ణయించిన అలంకారముగాక ఆమె మరి ఏమియు కోరలేదు. ఎస్తేరును చూచిన వారందరికి ఆమెయందు దయపుట్టెను.
3. 16ఈ ప్రకారము ఎస్తేరు రాజైన అహష్వేరోషు ఏలుబడియందు ఏడవ సంవత్సరమున టెబేతు అను పదియవ నెలలో రాజ నగరులోనికి అతనియొద్దకు పోగా
4. 17స్త్రీలందరికంటె రాజు ఎస్తేరును ప్రేమించెను, కన్యలందరికంటె ఆమె అతనివలన దయాదాక్షిణ్యములు పొందెను. అతడు రాజ్యకిరీటమును ఆమె తలమీద ఉంచి ఆమెను వష్తికి బదులుగా రాణిగా నియమించెను.
5. 18అప్పుడు రాజు తన అధిపతులకందరికిని సేవకులకందరికిని ఎస్తేరు విషయమై యొక గొప్పవిందు చేయించి, సంస్థానములలో సెలవుదినము ప్రకటించి రాజు స్థితికి తగినట్టుగా బహుమతులు ఇప్పించెను.
