1. 32ఎవరియొద్ద నీ దేవతలు కనబడునో వారు బ్రదుకకూడదు. నీవు నా యొద్దనున్న వాటిని మన బంధువుల యెదుట వెదకి నీ దానిని తీసికొనుమని లాబానుతో చెప్పెను. రాహేలు వాటిని దొంగిలెనని యాకోబునకు తెలియలేదు.
2. 33లాబాను యాకోబు గుడారములోనికి లేయా గుడారము లోనికి ఇద్దరి దాసీల గుడారములలోనికి వెళ్లెను గాని అతని కేమియు దొరకలేదు. తరువాత అతడు లేయా గుడారములోనుండి బయలుదేరి రాహేలు గుడారములోనికి వెళ్లెను.
3. 34రాహేలు ఆ విగ్రహములను తీసికొని ఒంటె సామగ్రిలో పెట్టి వాటిమీద కూర్చుండెను. కాగా లాబాను ఆ గుడారమందంతటను తడవి చూచి నప్పటికిని అవి దొరకలేదు.
4. 35ఆమె తన తండ్రితో తమ యదుట నేను లేవలేనందున తాము కోపపడకూడదు; నేను కడగానున్నానని చెప్పెను. అతడెంత వెదకినను ఆ విగ్రహములు దొరకలేదు.
5. 36యాకోబు కోపపడి లాబానుతో వాదించి అతనితో నీవిట్లు మండిపడి నన్ను తరుమ నేల? నేను చేసిన ద్రోహమేమి? పాపమేమి?
