1. 11అప్పుడు యూదా ఇతడు కూడ ఇతని అన్నలవలె చనిపోవునేమో అనుకొని నా కుమారుడైన షేలా పెద్దవాడగు వరకు నీ తండ్రి యింట విధవరాలుగా నుండుమని తన కోడలైన తామారుతో చెప్పెను. కాబట్టి తామారు వెళ్లి తన తండ్రి యింట నివసించెను.
2. 12చాలా దినములైన తరువాత షూయ కుమార్తెయైన యూదా భార్య చనిపోయెను. తరువాత యూదా దుఃఖ నివారణ పొంది, అదుల్లామీయుడైన హీరా అను తన స్నేహితునితో తిమ్నాతునకు తన గొఱ్ఱెల బొచ్చుకత్తిరించు వారియొద్దకు వెళ్లెను
3. 13దాని మామ తన గొఱ్ఱెల బొచ్చు కత్తిరించుటకు తిమ్నాతునకు వెళ్లుచున్నాడని తామారునకు తెలుపబడెను.
4. 14అప్పుడు షేలా పెద్దవాడైనప్పటికిని తాను అతని కియ్యబడకుండుట చూచి తన వైధవ్య వస్త్రములను తీసివేసి, ముసుకు వేసికొని శరీరమంతయు కప్పుకొని, తిమ్నాతునకు పోవు మార్గములోన
5. 15యూదా ఆమెను చూచి, ఆమె తన ముఖము కప్పుకొనినందున వేశ్య అనుకొని
