1. 25ఆమెను బయటికి తీసికొని వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆమె తన మామ యొద్దకు ఆ వస్తువులను పంపి - ఇవి యెవరివో ఆ మనుష్యుని వలన నేను గర్భవతినైతిని. ఈ ముద్ర యీ దారము ఈ కఱ్ఱ యెవరివో దయచేసి గురుతు పట్టుమని చెప్పించెను.
2. 26యూదా వాటిని గురుతుపట్టి నేను నా కుమారుడైన షేలాను ఆమెకు ఇయ్యలేదు గనుక ఆమె నాకంటె నీతిమంతురాలని చెప్పి మరి యెప్పుడును ఆమెను కూడలేదు.
3. 27ఆమె ప్రసవకాలమందు కవల వారు ఆమె గర్భమందుండిరి.
4. 28ఆమె ప్రసవించుచున్నప్పుడు ఒకడు తన చెయ్యి బయటికి చాచెను గనుక మంత్రసాని ఎఱ్ఱ నూలు తీసి వాని చేతికి కట్టి - ఇతడు మొదట బయటికి వచ్చెనని చెప్పెను.
5. 29అతడు తన చెయ్యి వెనుకకు తీసినప్పుడు అతని సహోదరుడు బయటికి వచ్చెను. అప్పుడామె నీ వేల భేదించుకొని వచ్చితి వనెను. అందుచేత అతనికి పెరెసు అను పేరు పెట్టబడెను.
